But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves in a mirror; for they look at themselves and, on going away, immediately forget what they were like. But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing. James 1:22-25 NRSV

No se contenten sólo con escuchar la palabra, pues así se engañan ustedes mismos. Llévenla a la práctica. El que escucha la palabra pero no la pone en práctica es como el que se mira el rostro en un espejo y, después de mirarse, se va y se olvida en seguida de cómo es. Pero quien se fija atentamente en la ley perfecta que da libertad, y persevera en ella, no olvidando lo que ha oído sino haciéndolo, recibirá bendición al practicarla. Santiago 1:22-25 NIV

My prayers for you today is to believe in the promise words of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

A believer in God('s words) should always have the attitude of belief. Faith is the only thing that connects promise and blessing, and it is necessary to receive the fulfilment of God's word upon our lives. On the other hand, unbelief can prevent us to receive the blessing. For example, God promised the entire Jewish nation that they will inherit Canaan, the land flowing with milk and honey. Many of them, however, murmured and rebelled against the Lord in the wilderness. In other words, majority of the Israelites doubted the promises of God('s words). As a result, God's wrath was kindled against them and they were not permitted to enter the Promised Land. Only the next generation was able to enter Canaan, but their fathers died on the wilderness. Collectively, Israel still received the blessing as a nation. But individually, many died in their unbelief. In like manner, Jesus stated that He will return for His church, and this church will be a body of believers which have "no spot or wrinkle". The entire Church, as a collective body, is destined to be saved. But sadly, many individuals will not receive the fulfilment of the promise of salvation because of unbelief.

Por esta razón, un creyente en Dios siempre debería tener la actitud de creencia. La fe es la única cosa que une la promesa y la bendición, y es necesario recibir la realización de la palabra de Dios sobre nuestras vidas. Por otra parte, la incredulidad puede prevenirnos para recibir la bendición. Por ejemplo, Dios prometió la nación judía entera que ellos heredarán Canaan, la tierra que fluye con la leche y miel.
