“I gave you empty stomachs in every city   and lack of bread in every town,   yet you have not returned to me,” declares the Lord . “I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away.   I sent rain on one town,    but withheld it from another. One field had rain;    another had none and dried up.    People staggered from town to town for water    but did not get enough to drink,    yet you have not returned to me,”   declares the Lord . Many times I struck your gardens and vineyards,    destroying them with blight and mildew.   Locusts devoured your fig and olive trees,   yet you have not returned to me,”   declares the Lord . “I sent plagues among you    as I did to Egypt.   I killed your young men with the sword,    along with your captured horses.  I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camps,   y...

Prayer :  Father, a billion years will seem as nothing when I stand before You and gaze into Your endless splendor. Teach me about Your tenderness, gladness, and desire so that I may fully comprehend Your beauty. by Mike Bickle Chamisa Devotionals for July 21, 2011 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. This description and any other will seem pitiful in its attempt to convey the reality of Him, but we must understand as well as we can that our Bridegroom possesses a beauty that transcends any other in the created realm. He is far above all other magnificence and pleasure. His endless splendor shines f...

Isaiah 1 New International Version (NIV)   1  The vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah son of Amoz saw during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Rebellious Nation Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth!      For the Lord has spoken: “I reared children and brought them up,      but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its master,      the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know,      my people do not understand.” Woe to the sinful nation,      a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers,      children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord ;      they have spurned the Holy One of Israel      and turned their backs on him. Why should you be beaten anymore?      Why do you persist in rebellion? ...
