U.S. veterans, now volunteers for Team Rubicon, load up supplies at an airfield in Manila, ultimately bound for a field hospital where scores of injured and ill from the typhoon need care and medicine.
To the People in the Philippines we are keeping you in prayer each day and night.  Hold on, help it is on its way. Many Nations will be bringing Medical Doctors, Food and Shelter.  We know that the wait is long, please hold on. We hear you and see your cries.   The  world is watching and sending help. Hold On.

"You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall and like the heat of the desert...Isaiah 25:4-5" One summer heavy downpours flooded a large area near my childhood home.  The stroms were followed by blazing heat, making cleanup miserable .  Tears fill my eyes as I saw pictures and read news stories that described the devastation.  Then I read that area churches- and some from far away had provided temporary shelters and food for those whose homes were ruined.  What blessed relief it was for these hurting people to have some respite from the forces of nature beyond their control.   God is such a shelter.  Like a welcome shade in the summer heat or a strong wall of protection agaist storms, He is there for us when   life is overwhelming. We will often be praying for people whose lives have been wrecked by sin. Many haven't been taught social skills, and they have unlovely characteristics about them. Many have embraced wrong teachings and even are oppressed by demons. We must be braced to gracefully absorb some of their immaturity and deal kindly with their deception.
