Do Things for God Because You Love Him: Do Not Do Things to Please Men

Living for God
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.

They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit. 1Peter 4:1-5 KJV

A Gifted Young Man of God

Thank you for your support and God bless you https://www.gofundme.com/help-caleb-get-to-banff Hey everyone, thanks so much for visiting my GoFundMe page! My name is Caleb Smith, I'm currently a second year jazz trombone performance major studying at Oberlin Conservatory on a full scholarship. I was fortunate enough to have been accepted into the 2017 Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music. This highly prestigious program, run by acclaimed jazz pianist Vijay Iyer, is a three week summer intensive that selects developing musicians from all over the world to come study and work with modern jazz greats. This would be an amazing opportunity not only to meet and study with masters, but to network with like minded musicians in my age group, however the program only awards up to 60% in financial aid. The program's tuition, along with the cost of airfare (at least $400 each way) will make this a very expensive endeavor. I'll be doing everything I can to cove...

The of Mercy in Jesus the Christ Son of King David-The Word of the Lord The Day of the Lord a Dark Day Amos 5:18-26 18  Alas for you who desire the day of the Lord !      Why do you want the day of the Lord ? It is darkness, not light; 19       as if someone fled from a lion,      and was met by a bear; or went into the house and rested a hand against the wall,      and was bitten by a snake. 20  Is not the day of the Lord darkness, not light,      and gloom with no brightness in it? 21  I hate, I despise your festivals,      and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. 22  Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,      I will not accept them; and the offerings of well-being of your fatted animals      I will not look upon. 23  Take away fro...

When Your Loved One Doesn't Come to Christ

-
Posted 3/09/2010 by JoHannah Reardon is the managing editor of ChristianBibleStudies.com and a contributing editor for Kyria.com. My husband asked me recently if I've ever been angry with God. It only took me a few seconds to answer, "Yes—when my dad died." His question flooded my emotions with the same anger I felt years ago that I still have to work through occasionally. When I became a Christian as a teenager, the person who led me to Christ told me to pray for my parents, since they didn't know God. I threw myself passionately into that task. I clung to verses such as 1 John 5:14-15, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." I reasoned that it's certainly God's will that my parents come to Christ, so I never doubted that it would happen. I thought that I may have been placed in ...

Prayers for Women, Youth and Children Around the World

I pray to our Creator Yahweh in the name of our LORD Jesus the Christ and with the communion of the Holy Spirit to hear this prayer.    I pray, God Yahweh that you will  watch over all the Children, Youth and ALL the Women around the world. Protect them and keep them from all the danger that is in the world, that they will find a place of refuge. I also Pray that our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ that you will keep them in your hands. Thank you for hearing these prayers. From the Holy Bible John 8:1-11KJV: Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst. They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting h...

Reclaiming the Land

The Return of the Redeemed Children of God The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the crocus  it shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice with joy and singing.  The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon.  They shall see the glory of the Lord , the majesty of our God.   Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.  Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, do not fear!  Here is your God. He will come with vengeance, with terrible recompense. He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the speechless sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; the haunt of jackals shall become a swamp,...

I pray that you be strong in the LORD and hold on to Your Faith in Jesus the Messiah (Christ).    This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD.  "In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you;  you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.  If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing;  whoever attacks you will surrender to you.  “See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame  and forges a weapon fit for its work.  And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;  no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,  and this is their vindication from me,”            declares the LORD" (Isaiah 54:14-17 NIV). Rezo para que sea fuerte en el Señor, y se aferran a ...

Churches in Japan

Churches in Japan recover as ecumenical spirit shines For immediate release: 24 March 2011 Candles were lit in the chapel of the Ecumenical Centre in memory of those who were killed by the tsunami and those who now struggle to recover.  As recovery efforts in Japan proceed, the full impact of the earthquake and tsunami two weeks ago continues to be felt by some of the World Council of Churches (WCC) member churches there.  At the same time prayers, letters of solidarity and, in some cases, monetary support are coming in from the ecumenical community in Asia as well as around the world.   In a letter sent yesterday to the churches in Japan, the Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, general secretary of the World Council of Churches, expressed the “dismay and sorrow” of the world wide church community.  Speaking for the 349 WCC member churches Tveit said, “We pray for God’s grace and divine protection for those who are risking their own lives in order to save others.”...
