The Lord's Jesus Prayer

-

“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’ Matthew 6:9-10NIV
Amen!

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him,   and he began to teach them.   The Beatitudes He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit,      for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn,      for they will be comforted.   Blessed are the meek,      for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,      for they will be filled.   Blessed are the merciful,      for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart,      for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers,      for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,      for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, pers...

The Lord's Prayer

-
Lord's Prayer can be found in two places in the New Testament section of the bible: Matthew chapter 6, verses 9 - 13 Pray like this: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.  Let us not come into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.]' (New Heart English Bible) and Luke chapter 11, verses 1 - 4  One day Jesus was in a place talking with God. When he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, `Lord, teach us to talk with God as John taught his disciples.'   Jesus said, `When you talk with God, say, "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come.  Give us our food day by day.   Forgive us for the wrong things we have done. We forgive everyone who ...

Holy Weeks The Lenten Season  Prayers and Fasting Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”  Jesus answered, “ It is written : ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.  “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written : “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’  Jesus answered him, “ It is also written : ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world an...

The Righteous Reign of the Coming King Isaiah 9:1-7 NRSV But there will be no gloom for those who were in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time he will make glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations. The people who walked in darkness ,  have seen a great light;   those who lived in a land of deep darkness— on them light has shined. You have multiplied the nation,   you have increased its joy;   they rejoice before you   as with joy at the harvest, as people exult when dividing plunder.   For the yoke of their burden,   and the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor,   you have broken as on the day of Midian.    For all the boots of the tramping warriors   and all the garments rolled in blood   shall be burned as fuel for the fire. For a child has been born for us...

God Loves You and Cares All About You

I pray that you understand how much God Loves you, in the name of Jesus the Christ. Be bless today. 1 John 3 1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.  All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.  Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.  But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.  No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.  Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.  The one who does wha...

Put Your Weapons Away

Lent Season:  The Church of Jesus Christ must be aware of the danger of using weapons to destroy their opponent.  When Jesus was arrested, He told his disciple Peter in the Gospel of John 18:11 and of Matthew 26:36-68 put your weapon away! NRSV Jesus Prays in Gethsemane 36  Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37  He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and agitated. 38  Then he said to them, “I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me.” 39  And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not what I want but what you want.” 40  Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, “So, could you not stay awake with me one hour? 41  Stay awake and pray that you may not come i...
